Is your Handycam a fake?
Sony has issued a statement warning that imitation camcorders are being sold through eBay and on market stalls throughout the UK. The counterfeit camcorders bear the Sony Handycam marque, but are of dubious origin.The press release advised all would-be buyers to check that they are purchasing a genuine Sony product by cross-checking with info on the Sony website before purchasing a 'bargain' camcorder. Meanwhile the company is attempting to ensure all fake product removed from eBay - but can only do so after the items have been offered for sale
